LB# 18

Educational Media Center is a facility designed for the housing and utilization of all educational media with in the school and it is a basic requirement for a school to render quality service. And it is a facility of the school system tasked to acquire, maintain,care and promote the full effective use of educational media.It is important to have educational media in our school to be able the teachers and students upgrade and improve under technology manipulative skills all for the purpose of motivating them to keep on developing their communication, analytical, integrative, creative and collaborative skills for meaningful life long learning.

Complex learning cannot be assessed or evaluated using any single measure.We must examine both the processes and products of student learning.It means that complex learning is not assessed or evaluated without any examination.Giving an examination to our students will make them evaluate if they understand our lesson.

In this lesson I learned that the assessment practice of constructivist thinking is a higher level form of assessment that will require the display of the basic skills of writing and speaking, computing and the more complex skills of applying concepts learned, analyzing, integrating and creating, critiquing and evaluating and the social skills of working with others.And such higher level form of assessment will call for alternative forms of assessment.

In this lesson I learned that goals and objectives are always the starting points of planning..We cannot plan if we don't have goals and objectives in our life...and it is the best strategy in teaching...

Project-based Multimedia Learning is most of all anchored on the core curriculum. This means that project-based multimedia learning addresses the basic knowledge and skills all students are expected  to acquire as laid down in the minimum competencies of the basic education curriculum..And it is a teaching method in which students acquire new knowledge and skills in the course of designing, planning and producing multimedia product..It is very important to use project-based multimedia learning because it is value added to our teaching and it powerful motivator in our students and actively engages students on the learning task..

Chalkboard can be always present in the classroom. Most professional teacher uses chalkboard and it can be effective if we write clearly and legibly on the board..In writing the chalkboard it should not overcrowding that your students may not fail to see the key ideas. Do not turn your back to your class while you write on the chalkboard..,write side view as you talk and don't lose eye contact with the students. And using colored chalk can make your board work more appealing...

Overhead Projector  is simple to operate and it is easy for teachers and students to create their own materials for use. And it is another versatile equipment that is quite common today...

      By learning how to use the chalkboard and overhead projector properly and inexpensive way we are able to realize our instructional objectives..And it is very useful to the students in learning and it broadens their understanding....

In this lesson I learned that visual symbol is more understandable than words..It is used for the teacher in their lesson in order that their students understand well..Examples of visual symbols are:drawings,graphs, diagrams, charts, maps and cartoons..we can used it in our classroom..make sure that the visual symbol that you make is attractive to the students..but not too much colorful because it may cause destruction to the students eyes...

The Power of films, videos in the classroom

They can make us see and hear for ourselves world events as they happen.They can be the most believable news source.They can make some programs understandable and appealing to a wide variety of age and educational levels. They can provide us sounds and sights not easily available even to the viewer a real event through long shots, close ups, zoom shots,magnification and split screen made possible by the television camera.They can be both instructive and enjoyable.

Making the most of community resources and field trips

     

I have learned that there are educational benefits derived from field trip.

• Acquisition of  lasting concepts and change in attitudes are rooted on concrete for rich and memorable experiences which are fundamental to learning that lasts.
• Field trips bring us to the world beyond the classroom.
• They have a wide range of application.
• It can bring about a lot of realization which may lead to changes ina attitudes insights.

We can define demonstration as "a skilled performance of a task or technique showing precisely how it should and could be done on the job". It's a time old way of teaching, and one based on common sense. It's one area of teaching and learning where common sense, research and theory converge.It is very important to have a good demonstration..because the understanding of our students depends on how we demonstrate..the tasks of demonstration is not monopoly of the teacher. Students when taught, guided and helped can also turn out to be excellent demonstrators.

Dramatized experience is very important because this is the only thing we can show our affection and emotions..it catches and holds our attention and has an emotional impact.If we are dramatic to our students this will get attracted and they will get interested and affected.

There are kinds of dramatized experience..these are:formal plays, pageants, pantomime, tableau, puppets and role playing..these are most fit in kinesthetically intelligent.

I learned that contrived experiences are substitutes of real things when it is not feasible to bring the real thing to the class and it include models, mock ups, specimens, objects, simulations and games. It is very important to have this in the class in order for students to learn from our lesson. And as future teacher someday, we will show some evidence from our students. Just for example, if we teach science we will give some projects to our students, then they will make models or drawings from their projects or if we teach them we will show unto them the things we are going to discuss. And if we dont have it in a real thing we can use some models or drawings.

DIRECT,  PURPOSEFUL EXPERIENCES AND BEYOND

I learned that direct experiences is learning by doing and makes us learn concepts and skills effectively. In this direct experiences, a person can really do it by in its own experiences,just for example if a person doesn't  know how to use a computer maybe it would be difficult for them but if you are willing to learn from it and spending hours in doing activities by our selves we can acquire the skill.And as future teacher someday we should learn from it and teach our student what we learn.And because of our experiences we can be a good teacher to them.

I learned that instructional material can be the best provided and it helps the teacher accomplish the intended learning objectives. As future teacher someday, we use instructional materials for our students. It is very important to have this in order to be understood by our students. This can also help the student gaining ideas from our lesson and help develop their critical  and creative thinking power. In using instructional materials we must be prepared and used proper materials that can fit in our lesson. And after giving the lesson we must give an evaluation to our student if they really understand.

I learned that the cone of experience is a visual model, a pictorial device that presents bands of experiences arranged according to degree of abstraction and not degree of difficulty. As individual we had different experiences that acquires new concrete experiences. When we grow older the more abstract our concepts are likely to be and it can be attributed to physical maturation, more vivid experiences and sometimes greater motivation for learning.

 The focus of systematic instructional planning is the student. It begins with the definition of instructional objectives that consider the students needs, interests and readiness. The teacher selects the appropriate teaching methods to be used and in turn based on the teaching method selected, the appropriate learning experiences and appropriate materials, equipment and facilities will also be selected. Systematic approach is a method or technique that can help students in conducting a lesson and using learning materials.

In this lesson, I learned that there are different roles of educational technology in learning. It serves as learning tools that learners learn with and it engages learners in active, constructive, intentional, authentic and cooperative learning. Just for example a teacher must learn first before he/she will teach their students so that their student must also learn in using that technology.

I learned that using technology in our society is very important. It can be useful and I can communicate with my love ones whose far away from me. I can also use  this technology when I had a research, and if it is difficult to find in the library..I can easily search it to the computer...It made my life easier and I can gain more knowledge about the information that I had..there are also disadvantages of using this technology..but its up to us on how we use it. Were the one controls our life not the technology....
